Stopped at shillings cottage for 5 nights and what can I say. So peaceful and in beautiful surroundings. Diana the owner made us feel at home. Nothing was too much. Stunning location, lovely cottage and totally relaxing all round. Will definitely be returning again.

A wonderful stay with great people
"You can either choose the beautiful small house for 2 amidst an enormous well-kept garden full of flowers and apple trees, or - for a short stay - go for the luxury B&B with fresh breakfast at their family home. Either way a great start for many many walks or - on a rainy day - antique discoveries in the neighbourhood. And last but not least: a huge swimming pool with a 360 landscape view. Thanks."

Loved every minute
We stayed at Shillings cottage last year (before it was on trip advisor) and loved everything about our stay. Diana and Jim were friendly, amusing and welcoming and the cottage and surroundings were exactly what we were looking for. So much so we rebooked for this year before we left and are heading back down to Hemyock in 2 weeks.... Cant wait!!!!

Good value
We have stayed in many cottages but this cottage has been one if the nicest. The cottage was very clean and the cream tea awaiting us very good. We ordered a hamper before we came and this was full of essentials, bacon, sausages, home made bread etc and each room had fresh flowers. The views from the cottage were amazing and it had an added bonus of a swimming pool. The gardens were so relaxing and Diana and Jim were perfect hosts and did their upmost to make us feel welcome and we felt that we really could use all the grounds. A lot of places say walks from the door but there really was so many walks to take, the car just stayed where it was. Had we wanted to go and see towns and seaside they seemed to be very accessible and most under an hour to get to. We found the local people very friendly and only to pleased to stop and talk. The information in the cottage was up to date and there were very clear walking guides. Needless to say we have already booked next year. Very good value for money
